Measure vs calculated column?
A calculated column is computed row by row at refresh and stored. A measure is calculated at query time based on filter context.
What does CALCULATE do?
It evaluates an expression in a modified filter context, which makes it central to most advanced DAX.
Why use a star schema?
It simplifies relationships, improves performance and makes DAX more predictable.
What is row-level security?
Rules that restrict which rows users can see, defined with DAX filters on roles.
Import vs DirectQuery?
Import loads data into the model for speed; DirectQuery queries the source live, trading speed for freshness.
How do you improve report performance?
Reduce model size, remove unused columns, optimise DAX, limit visuals per page and use aggregations.
