Weeks 1–4: Subtract, don't add
You will feel the urge to prove you're still useful. Resist. Your job the first month is to listen, learn team dynamics, and remove yourself from the critical path, not add yourself to new ones.
Weeks 5–8: Rebuild 1:1s
Most inherited 1:1s are broken — status updates in disguise. Rewrite the charter with each report. You are their career, not their PM.
